Exercise caution while mounting tires. The high pressures needed to "seat the beads" have the capability to cause serious injury or death.
Utilize personal protective equipment when handling tires and rims.
Where safety glasses to protect your eyes against flying debris.
Where leather gloves to protect you hands against any sharp objects encountered.
Either place the tire inside of a cage while inflating or place yourself out of the line of fire.
Riding has its own dangers. Do not exacerbate the situation by pushing your equipment beyond its capabilities.
